Are We Human or Are We Dancers?

Sun Jan 3, 2010, 2:38 PM
Heyylo everyone,
It's been 10 days of vacation and 3 days of 365 Challenges. Needless to say, I haven't gotten too far. The first two are a little less than Witching Hour mindlessness and the second isn't as bad. And you all are getting the complete uncensored versions. Huzzah.
On another subject, the most exciting things that've happened this vacation was ice skating, Christmas, and going to see the movie Nine.
Ice skating because my ankles now hurt quite a lot, Christmas because of good presents (yesiamshallowthanksforasking), and Nine because it was a damn good movie. Go see it. It's full of women, beautiful (and skimpy) costumes, lipstick, cigarettes, Italy, and Daniel Day-Lewis. If you were lucky enough to see it live (L, you lucky bitch, you saw it in Chicago!), then it was probably even better.
And it's back to school tomorrow. That will be painful. 6:00AM alarm going off in my ear... ugh. I'm not exactly ready to go back to Latin class or French or English or... anything. I like the people, just not the work. ;)
All that being said, this is my blog post for this week. I decided to do them weekly. Obviously, this week only had 3 challenges, but I've gotta keep 'em even. Aaand, the disclaimer: I own none of the Challenges. The writing is mine, the Challenges themselves are not. All credit goes to #100ThemesChallenge.
Be good.

Always,
Indigo

He Ate My Heart and then He Ate My Brain

Hello there everyone,
Hope your holidays were fabulous and full of presents and family and food and warm fuzzies. I for one had a wonderful Christmas. Although apparently my cousin's new boyfriend mistook me for my father's wife. Nice one.
So 2010 is in a few days. I've started my list of resolutions already. Nothing too exciting, just stuff like get good grades, improve self, read more than I already do, etc. But the one project I really want to do is the 100 Themes Challenge combined with the poem/writing a day. Since there are only 100 themes and 365 days in a year, the obvious solution is to do 3 1/2 different versions. (Go check out the group. There are like 5 different versions.) Anyways, that's my 2010 project. The reason why I'm telling you guys (yes, all five of you ;)) is because it will give me… motivation. Although that's not really the right word, but whatever. What I mean is that if it was just me saying to myself, "oh yeah, doing this sounds cool..." I'd never get around to it, much less finish it. But now that I have it out there on the Internet for God sake, I pretty much have to follow through. Otherwise it'd look pretty stupid.
The purpose of this is to expand my writing. I always want to improve and I think this will be a good way to do it. I may or may not post everything. We'll see.
Well, it's 1:06am here, so I should stop droning and maybe go to bed? Maybe.

Always,
Indigo

UPDATE:
Okay people, after 24 hours of serious thought (and chocolate), I've come up with my 365 Challenges. I'll be doing the Julie Powell thing and blogging it. I will probably be uploading by week. Hope you come along for the ride!
What I did was take all 5 versions of the 100 Themes Challenge, stuck it into Microsoft Excel, and narrowed it down. All credit goes to :icon100themeschallenge:. So here's the final list:

Have A Merry Christmas Baby

Thu Dec 24, 2009, 12:33 PM
Hey all,
Hope you've been having a wonderful holiday season.
I was at Whole Foods today when this guy comes in. He's obviously homeless and starts asking people for money. A few people give him a couple bucks. Because you're not supposed to solicit, a security guard comes over to ask him to leave.
Security guard: You can't do that in here. If you want to do that, please do it outside.
Man: I've been outside all day. Please, I'm just going to sit here. I won't ask anyone else for money, I promise.
He sits down and rubs his hand over his eyes. His eyes are blue and tired ad hungry and his fingers are dirty. I begin to take my wallet out of my pocket. The guy at the same table, eating alone, pulls out a wallet and throws down a twenty, then a ten. The homeless man looks up at him and his eyes are wide and a bit crazed.
"Seriously?!" he asks. The man who gave him the money waves his hand, like it was nothing.
"Oh my God!" the homeless man says. "Thank you so much!" He tries to give the man back the the ten, but he won't let him.
"Oh my God, thank you so much!" he says again. "God bless you and your family!" He runs out. A few minutes later, the man who gave him the money finished up eating, threw his stuff out, and left. Five minutes after that, the homeless man is back. He has a bit of food and a CVS bag. He looks in the window for a while, searching for the other man. Obviously, he isn't there, so he walks away.
He wanted to give him back the change.
I felt like crying.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

In a Garden Full of Angels You Will Never Be Alone

Fri Nov 13, 2009, 5:55 PM
Hello everyone.
This shall be my Rant Journal as I think I'm entitled to those every once in a while.
This has not been a very good week. I won't go into all the boring detail because the Internet already has enough crap on it without me bitching about my own silly life. But I'm glad it's the weekend.
It'd be nice if I wasn't one of those people who tells themselves they're going to start their homework on Friday night and then just ends up being a creeper on Facebook and watching stupid videos on YouTube. I will write that paper, I promise!
You know what pisses me off? Those people who are all like "omg my hair sux i have 2 much hw
FML!!1" I'm addressing this particular issue as follows:
- first of all, your hair does not suck. It looks fine. Yeah, I say that too, but it's a girlie thing, I guess.
- USE SOME PUNCTUATION, PLEASE!
- When you say "FML" because of too much homework or being grounded over something stupid you did, get some perspective! Some people can only dream of having an education. They'd give anything to have homework and to go to school, to have the chance of having meaningful life. (Not that you can't have that without education, but you get it). Some people truly have so little. No food, water, warm clothing, money, family, countries torn apart by wars and disease, etc.
You can see I'm in one of my deeper moods. X-D
I haven't been able to write lately. It's not too fun. Writing manages to keep me relatively sane. I've had a few lines swirling around my brain a bit, but I haven't been able to sucessfully expand on them. Ideas please?
Ow, my lip is bleeding.
Anyways, I'm done bitching for today. Thanks for tuning in! ;)

Always,
Me
